Hey girls!!!

I'm 16 days postpartum and doing well, I have good days and bad days. I still feel drained and exhausted because of sleep deprivation and breastfeeding. I seriously never knew that breastfeeding would take so much energy out of me. Did you know that it burns approx 500 calories a day? I'm constantly eating and trying to keep my eyes open. It has got easier and I'm glad I stuck with it, the first few days were awful and painful no matter what I tried, I couldn't stop crying as it hurt so much but now it almost feels "normal" and me and Esra are very appreciative! :) You never quite understand what a mother goes through to take care of her child until you become a mother yourself!

We went out for a meal last night and I managed to apply some makeup and look half decent!

Esra is changing everyday, she is focusing a lot more and becoming more alert.

My mum finished the blanket she was making for Esra, it's incredibly beautiful. Thank you Annecim!

It's quite large which is fantastic as when she is older, I want to use it as a throw on the edge of her single bed, my mama is also making a decorative cushion to match!

Esra is incredibly lucky as she was also gifted this handmade crochet blanket too! This one is quite small and looks pretty draped over her car seat! :) My Mother-in-law is making Esra one too which will bring the total to 5! Lucky girl! :)

I have plenty of posts prepared but I need a million espressos to keep my eyes open so I can type and update, however even that's a 'no' as caffeine and breastfeeding don't mix! No seriously, I will be updating more frequently, I have so much to share! x X x

Wow, I never imagined how much energy breast feeding takes up! And to make things worse- no caffeine, ? That's bad... How a girl is supposed to pick up her strength then?

Oh! by the way, I know it may sound irrelevant or inappropriate, but how's Peanut doing now that you've dedicated yourself to Ezra? I know my little dogs would be very, very jealous if I gave all my attention to someone new in the family, tehehe
xx

She is so beautiful, just like her mama!
Breast feeding is difficult in the beginning for sure, the painful hard breasts, the leaking--ugh :( It definitely takes some getting use to, but I promise--it will become second nature after awhile. I nursed both of my kids for around 10 months each and after awhile, I was typing and writing bills with my free hand ;)You're doing great!!!

Selam a3leykum lovely!

SubhanAllah your lil'girl is so lovely...

You know I have a friend who's like you:breastfeding is really tiring fr her (with that she lost all her baby weight!) whatever if you really want to have some rest when you feed your little diamond I suggest you to lay on the couch on your side (right, left who cares?) aaaand to adjust your boob to esra's mouth. It will be less painful and esra will be really really pleased by that and she'll sleep very well.

A lot of kisses for you two lovelies,HijabiDoll

I know how you are feeling now that you are a mother and the hardships and pain you are enduring.I've been there too with my 3 yr.old toddler now. I breastfed for almost a yr.but I got ill with chicken pox so I had to stop breastfeeding. How long are you planning to breastfeed ? If I didn't catch chicken pox I would've been BFing for a very long time. It is such a wonderful bonding with the baby and I'm honestly missing it.
You have a very beautiful baby. Now your family is complete. I know you are sleep deprive and irritable at times, but hang in there.
I always love reading your posts. Take care and kisses to baby Esra xx
